An intelligent material mix of aluminum and steel increases the life, but at the same time reduces the weight of the cassette. For example, the basic body (spider), the lock ring and the largest pinion are weight-saving made of aluminum. The remaining pinions, on the other hand, are made of steel, which not only reduces wear, but also generates more stiffness in order to convert the entire force into propulsion.
